I strongly urge the planning and zoning commission, and Shelburne in general, to turn their back on the proposed 10-acre zoning. Those of us in Jericho have seen how that works. Only the wealthy can afford to build new homes and pay property taxes, developers won’t even attempt to build communities of affordable housing, and the landscape gets divided up into chunks of vast lawns with vast houses and three-car garages.
